A Heart Beneath the Ruins

Alexandra Kefallinou Paranormal

**She remembers the fire. She doesn’t remember the boy calling her name from inside it.**
After burning down a university archive, nineteen-year-old Lyla Mercer is sent to Blackthorn College—a secluded institution for students whose mistakes have cost them their futures.
She arrives after dark. An elderly woman is waiting. So are two brothers who look at her as though her arrival is the worst thing that could have happened.
Adrian Vale is all golden hair, blue eyes, and careful kindness. His brother Dorian is dark, unnervingly beautiful, and determined to keep his distance.
Lyla intends to leave them both alone.
Then an old book opens onto a memory that cannot belong to her. A ruined garden feels like home. And the brother she barely knows looks at her with a grief he refuses to explain.
As Lyla searches for answers, Dorian becomes the one person she cannot stay away from. But every step toward him unsettles something buried deep within her—and draws the attention of a new teacher who seems to know exactly what Lyla is becoming.
Someone at Blackthorn knows why she is here.
Someone knows what is wrong with her heart.
And someone has been waiting far too long to let her choose for herself.
