The Mistress of the Sea: It was Never a Ship
READING AGE 16+
When the ship know as the Mistress was parked in the waters outside of a coastal town it’s markets would be flooded with jewels and cargo said to be lost at sea. The Royal Navy always assumed that the Mistress was a ship occupied by pirates. How else were they able to secure cargo said to have belong to ships that sank in the deepest parts of the ocean? The Mistress’s crew must have been responsible for looting and sinking all those ships. However, there have been many reports of the Mistress just passes merchant ships. Even some navy vessels have reported that the Mistress just passed by them swiftly. When the Navy tries to capture the ship and it’s crew, the ship is either too fast or they are unable to prepare the cannons fast enough.
Under mysterious circumstances the Kingdom of Gavaria’s Navy captured the man believed to be the captain of the ship, Captain Julian Sterling. The Kingdom of Gavaria is known for it’s powerful navy strength but for years Captain Sterling has evaded arrest. The details of his arrest are still kept secret. No one has seen him since that day.
This was thought to be the end of the mystery of Mistress of the Sea. But as time went by the Mistress would appear again. This time with even more treasure flooding the markets of the coastal towns. No one knows who the new captain is. Some suspect Captain Sterling escaped. Others suspect his second in command took charge after he never returned.
When the second son of the King of Gavaria, the promising future Commander of the navy, suddenly goes down with his ship, secrets once lost to the sea are brought to the surface. The laws of the Sea are broken and two kingdoms will face the broken heart of the sea. The only person left to stop the destruction is the Mistress of the Sea.
