“Are you ever going to love me?” I asked in a pained voice as he laid Morgana down. His muscles tightened, and for a while, he ignored my question, watching Morgana, his mistress, fall asleep while I,his wife, stood afar.
He shoved his hands into his pocket as he strolled towards me.
“Am I meant to answer that question?” He asked, his voice deep with anger.
“Yes” I nodded. I have to know my fate in this marriage.
“No, I am never going to love you. My heart belongs to Morgana alone. Spend your godforsaken two years with me and at its expiration I will take my shares and might decide to continue your mother’s treatment if I please, but till then no! “He shouted.
Fresh needle of pain as he spoke. I have done everything I can to make him fall for me, but all to no avail.
“Now go and clean Morgana's room. She is pregnant with my child and I would not want her stressing herself,” he ordered.
Right from highschool Lexie had always loved Derek and wanted him even though he was madly in love with Morgana. After confessing about her feelings for him and receiving a disgraceful rejection, she vowed to never love him again.
Ten years later, her mother receives a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s, leaving her devastated. Her boss offered to take care of her mother and in return she would marry his son who his finance ditched him two weeks before their marriage. She agrees with the proposal only to discover that it is Derek, her high school crush.
The only difference is that Derek is colder. Has a gigantic wall that blocks her from entering into his heart no matter how hard she tries.
Just when she started getting the soft side of Derek. Morgana resurfaces again, with a secret that will make or break their relationship.
