"If you meant nothing then this would be easier," he says. His hands are trembling, fisted in my shift and I press myself against him. "If you meant nothing," he says, his lips just above mine. "Then I would not have to walk away."

I'm not done with kissing by the time my Christian sits up. I open my mouth to protest and demand he come back, but instead he draws me into his lap where I can nestle against his chest and I do have to admit this is a fine place to watch the world from. It's warm and safe and I'm pressed up against his chest.
