READING AGE 18+
“The crown is bleeding.”Not words from a trauma patient flatlining on a gurney. A warning. Aeron White didn't give a damn about the old blood running through New Orleans. Then his thirty-third birthday hit, waking up a hunger he couldn't scrub off with hospital soap. Suddenly, an ER nurse is the missing heir to House Duchesne, dumped straight into a lethal underground society where he's starving for things he shouldn't want. He’s got an uncle named Lucien waiting with a warm smile and a blade for his ribs. She’s got a missing sister to track down and a blood oath she’d sell her soul to shatter. It leaves them with a deal built on quicksand. He swears he’ll keep his distance. She bites her tongue, burying the fact that her burner phone buzzes with updates for the man hunting him. He just looks at her in the quiet and asks, “Who are you reporting to?” As forced proximity turns into a brutal, pulse-pounding pull, she's out of time. She can burn the whole thing down for the truth, or she can let him take everything.
