Was that true? I couldn't feel my body at all anymore, nothing except fear, a fear so distant now it barely registered as mine. But hearing Dr. Callow's cry, something in me actually loosened. This meant I'd die soon, didn't it. And if I died, I'd never have to see Orion again. I'd never have to hurt again.
