Isla’s life before she was taken and raised by her grandparents was nothing short of absolute hell. Isla’s grandparents give Isla the best life on the campground they own. She’s never short of an adventure in those Colorado woods. Isla grows up fairly happy and excels in school. She;s offered a scholarship to study abroad in Ireland. Having always wanted to travel the world and become a best-selling author, Isla jumps at the opportunity.
It’s at this college that, just weeks before Isla is due to graduate, she meets the love of her life. Isla has never been in love before, much less ever had a boyfriend. But when she meets musician Rowan, her whole world begins to revolve around him. Until one night, while celebrating Rowan being signed to a record label, she walks in on him and another woman in bed. But instead of announcing her presence, Isla simply shuts the door and goes home where she blocks his number and anything else he can reach out to her on and, quite literally, never looks back.
Having graduated college and discovering Rowan’s infidelity, she decides it’s time to return home. When she lands back in the states, she learns her grandparents were killed in a tragic car accident while on their way to pick her up from the airport. Isla is willed the campground and spends the next few years managing her childhood home and writing best-selling books. After all these years, she’s yet to check in on Rowan to see what he’s up to. If she hears his songs on the radio, she turns the station. If she’s watching the news and he’s mentioned, she turns the channel.
That’s why when none other than Rowan Clarke shows up at her campground, Isla nearly passes out. But Rowan wasn’t aware he booked his stay at her place. Afterall, he had his assistant do the booking. Besides, Rowan is only here hiding from a crazy fan who’s almost killed him twice. He won’t get in her way or be too bothersome, he ensures Isla. But when a storm comes and destroys Rowan’s camper, Isla has no choice but to let him stay with her in his cabin until he can get something figured out.
Will Isla learn to forgive Rowan? Or will she simply move on again once his crazy fan is found and arrested?
