What happens when you leave everything familiar behind and step into a city that knows nothing about you?
In 2021, she leaves home for Lagos with one bag, a bus ticket, and a heart full of hope. She believes she is simply going away to find better opportunities and build a life of her own.
But Lagos has other plans.
From the loneliness of her first night in a strange city to losing almost everything she has, she learns that starting over is never as easy as it looks. She finds work, earns her first salary, and eventually discovers opportunities she once prayed for. Yet, somewhere along the way, she begins to lose something more important—herself.
She becomes tired of always being strong. Tired of putting everyone and everything before her own peace. And eventually, she has to make a difficult choice: continue living the life she has built, or walk away and find the person she was becoming beneath all the expectations.
Through loss, faith, work, uncertainty, and unexpected new beginnings, she discovers that choosing herself does not mean choosing against God.
Sometimes, losing your way is part of finding your way home.
Becoming Me is a story about leaving, losing, healing, faith, and becoming the woman you were always meant to be.
Because sometimes, the greatest journey isn’t finding a new place.
