Diana believed that her fiancé, Joshua, had died. But on the anniversary of his death, she visits his grave and is confronted with the seemingly impossible: Joshua is alive, and right in front of her. Unsure how to explain, Joshua takes her to his family\'s home, where Diana is introduced to a new world that has existed right along side her own for her whole life. But although Joshua fits in in this strange, secret world, Diana does not. Is there a place for her? Will Joshua still love her? Will she even survive? True to her word, Anna returned with books. Diana could hear her from the other side of the door, chastising the guards who, Diana assumed, stood on the other side of the door.
“You need not stand so close,” Anna’s voice was her usual haughty. “The door will not unlock if you are no longer touching it.”
