NIGERIA WE HAIL THEE

NIGERIA WE HAIL THEEI thought corruption lived in Abuja. In big buildings with big AC.I was wrong. It lives in my street. It lives in the small office where my file refused to move for one month because I did not "drop something." It lives in the job interview where the man with slippers got the job because his uncle is the director. It lives in the N450 Million road signboard with no road, only stones. This is not a story about politicians on TV. This is my story.I went to get one stamp — they made me come 5 times. I went to get a job with Second Class Upper — they gave it to who knows who. I took my mother to a public hospital — the doctor was in his private clinic selling the free drugs.I saw favoritism in school, where the child who never came to class was promoted because his mother gives the principal free food.I saw nepotism where ten bags of rice for the community rotated inside one family — chairman, his brother, his sister, his son.I tried to report. They gave me a list that would take one year to complete. This book is not fiction. It is what every Nigerian youth sees every day — the embezzlement, the favoritism, the nepotism that kills merit and steals our hope. They did not just embezzle money. They embezzled our belief. If you have ever queued for hours and heard "come next week," if you have ever been told "bring your uncle," if you have ever clapped for a thief because he is your tribe — this story is for you.*#corruption #Nigeria #nepotism #trueStory #government #injustice #youth #realLife #politics #NigerianStory*I wrote this because if we all keep quiet and say "that is how Nigeria is," that is how Nigeria will remain.Read, comment, and tell me your own experience.
