Catalena Hayes has spent her entire life preparing to be Queen, not a wife. Certainly, she’d thought about her wedding, about falling in love, and claiming a husband. Never did she imagine an arranged marriage, but when her dad suggests that claiming a king may be the only one way to end the decades long war of wolves attacking her kingdom, Catalena hastily accepts. Or at least she had, until cold feet caused her to sprint from the rehearsal dinner.
Enter Finn. Charming, handsome, Finn. He enters Lena’s life at just the right time, colliding with her as she desperately sprinted from her future husband. Finn provides the perfect distraction for the night, but more importantly, he inspires her with a better idea. Marry him, someone who she naturally feels a connection with, someone who would gladly sit back and let her rule her own kingdom, and someone who would finally give her the chance to prove to her family that she’s capable of ending this war in her own way. Even if she doesn’t have a plan for that yet.

I had never been more terrified and calm at the same time, standing in front of Finn. I turned against his chest, still pressed tightly against him as my neck tilted upwards. He took the slightest step backwards, so that even at his towering height, his eyes had locked with mine. The green was burning brig……
