I sit leaning against Jordan’s warm body as Jasmine sits across the fire, glaring at the both of us. I ignore her icy gaze and tear off my boots. My toes are finally getting some feeling back into them. I set them close to the fire and hope they dry off at least a little before sunrise. Perhaps it is time for me to try and buy a better pair. Jasmine follows my lead and does the same, however, she shivers against the cold air. I had offered her a place beside Jordan but she had refused. I wonder how she’s going to fair when she’s sleeping and the fire goes out.
I don’t even want to think about what has happened. Everything is so complicated and strange and unbelievable. How can I sit here and act normal when nothing can ever be normal again? I sigh softly and smile to myself. I remembe……
