This story was born from my love for Philippine folklore and the quiet belief that land, memory, and choice are deeply connected.

While the setting is inspired by the Philippines in the early 1600s, this is a work of fantasy. Traditions, myths, and history have been reimagined to serve the story and its characters.

At its heart, this book is about love that doesn’t demand, power that listens, and the courage to change what has always been. Tala and Kael’s journey is a slow one, and I hope you enjoy walking it with them.
