ASSAULTING HILL 253.5

I tried to research as much about the actual battle of Kursk as possible and this high ground (Hill 253.5, near the village of Ponyri) is just one of the many hills on which the battle was fought and one of the few that actually withstood the german onslaught and remained in soviet hands throughout the campaign. As a cruel reminder of what battles of attrition really entail, I dedicated the entire fighting for the left battleground to this sector alone with this chapter being merely the initial stage.
