I was destined to be beheaded and become a wandering spirit, forced to watch from the shadows as the protagonist lived happily ever after with the man I loved. So I made a decision. I would stop fighting for a place in the story. I would stay away from the plot, avoid the characters, and do whatever it took to survive. And for a while, everything went perfectly. Until I met him again. The very man I had spent so long running from. The moment our eyes met, all the feelings I had buried came rushing back. But this time, things were different. I wasn't going to follow the story's script. I wasn't going to become the villain. And I certainly wasn't going to let another woman take the man I loved. He was the Werewolf King. And if the entire novel stood between us, I was ready to fight my way through it. Because this time, I wasn't going to die as the villain. I was going to rewrite the story—and become its protagonist.
